Looking Forward to Learning!
I signed up to learn how to teach Computer Science this summer, and I am so looking forward to learning new things!
Computer science is transforming our world, and as such it is an important part of our students education. This is why there is such a push for the Hour of Code etc. Apparently, the field is broad, and the demand for employees exceeds the interest in the field.
After dabbling with programming a little, I encourage every student that if they have any interest whatsoever to pursue it further. It takes a special detailed oriented, patient mind to sit and write, run, trouble shoot, and edit code. I can't say I am not surprised we don't have more persons interested--this is a very specific skill set.
With today's technology, it seems that the possibilities for a person of this skill set would be endless. How might I help the future in this area? I can't wait to find out.
