I really like this blog I have stumbled upon: Teachery Confessions. Blogger has a fresh way of voicing the thoughts rambling around in my head. She will join my list of favorites. With a sub-heading of "Real, Raw, Authentic"--no wonder I like her.
In her most recent post she talks about the label--Gifted and Talented. This label is so controversial and means so much to so many. Not all who have it understand what it means, and some want it really bad. Ultimately, we need to identify (label) so that we can set these gifted persons on the correct path to success, yet there are so many fears. There are fears of elitism by those who aren't. There are fears of acceptance by those who are.

So many places we could go with a conversation like this. I am reminded of the need for advocacy...and I am reminded that this starts with a parent group. We need one here in Montgomery.
