Reflections on Motivation--A.M.P
Thinking about Daniel Pink's words on motivation. Autonomy, Mastery, and Purpose.
I wonder how students will react with full autonomy. How do I act when I am completely autonomous? How about you? I do believe that we want to be in control of our own destiny. The movie "Boyhood" showed one young man's journey from age 6 to 12. What he was wanting most by graduation was the freedom to do his own thing. Isn't this what we all want?
What about Mastery. Do we give it enough time to acheive Master? Would we be more likely to do so if we were autonomous in our learning?
Purpose. Because we want it? Relevance?
